Augustine and Raphaëlle hope to continue their journey and follow up on a new historical figure: Hildegard von Bingen. Quite in opposition to Jeanne d’Arc character, Hildegard von Bingen’s visions and divinations allowed her to acquire a position of power within the church. On stage, the Hütte Collective explores the tensions between her progressive ideas, the historical context, and their recollection.
In revisiting her story, the performers are reimagining their own relationship to womanhood, feminity, community, and religion. Following them throughout all stages of the performance, the camera lends an intimate eye into their creative process.
